THE HUMAN TOUCH. WHY SOCIAL CONNECTION MEANS SO MUCH IN A TECHNOLOGY DRIVEN WORLD.

Treat Yourself Spa Day

Everywhere you turn these days, you often see everyone on their phones, rather than engaging in one another. Things are more self-service, automated and tech driven nowadays. The human touch is one of the first senses we knew and plays a vital role in our physical and psychological health, yet the physical touch has lessened in our technology culture. As we become more and more connected to society through the digital world, it can impact communications, relationships and our day-to-day.

So just how do we get back to feeling that human touch that we actually crave so much? After all, that’s what we used to know.

It all starts with getting back to basics.

At dinner time, have a rule that everyone puts away their phones to talk about each other’s day, and play a game afterwards. This is a family bonding time where everyone gets to unwind and feel connected.

Ask a friend out to lunch. Relationships with friends are extremely important. They are there for you when you need them. It’s always so nice to greet them with a huge hug and afterall, who doesn’t want a hug? They say 12 hugs a day is important to the human touch for growth and powerful energy in the body.

Engage with our kids more. Kids won’t always be kids. Soon they will grow up before our eyes, and we will be wishing they were still our little babies. Let’s play that game of catch with them, have them be your sous chef, and most importantly, hug them often, rub their back for no reason, and put your arm around them when reading a book.

#TREATYOSELF to a spa day! Sometimes before we can give it our all to our families, friends and/or our job, we need to make sure we are mentally and physically existent. We need to de-stress our mind and body to recharge to be the best version of ourself.
