With so many non-surgical, fat reducing procedures on the market, we want to break it down for you and explain why we believe CoolSculpting is still the #1 treatment for reducing fat bulges. In our latest blog we’re comparing CoolSculpting to a few other procedures that label themselves “fat blasters.” Here’s the skinny:
First, let’s talk CoolSculpting. A non-negotiable in our practice for patients looking to reduce exercise resistant fat in areas of the body. CoolSculpting is a revolutionary, non-surgical contouring treatment that freezes stubborn fat and naturally eliminates it from your body. It is the leading competitor for traditional liposuction, but contains none of the downsides of the invasive procedure. No needles, no special diets, no supplements, no surgery. And, most importantly, no downtime. It’s safe, FDA-cleared, and very effective. Through the strategic integration of cryolipolysis and advanced sound waves which target excess tissue, CoolSculpting can effectively reduce mass and contour the body more dramatically and thoroughly than its competitors
CoolSculpting vs. SculpSure – One of the biggest advantages CoolSculpting has over SculpSure is the time on the market. CoolSculpting has been around longer, and has had more time to advance their technology. FDA cleared for non-invasive fat reduction in 2010, CoolSculpting has been performed more than 4 million times in over 80 countries. CoolSculpting is also 25% less expensive than SculpSure on average. Sculpsure works by using laser energy to heat fat cells under the skin, the heat raises the temperature of fat cells damaging their structural integrity which compromises the fat and causes a reduction. Patients have expressed mixed feelings about how hot SculpSure can feel to the skin during treatment.
CoolSculpting vs. Vanquish – Radio Frequency is a well-known treatment for fat reduction and body contouring. Vanquish uses Radio Frequency to heat up and kill fat cells, and it does it without even touching your skin. Basically, this machine burns your fat cells and then, over the course of a few days, your lymphatic system gets rid of the cells. While CoolSculpting works to target specific areas for a more customized shape and outcome, Vanquish treatments require the patient to lay under the device while the sensors read your body fat to determine the energy level needed. Since Vanquish uses radio frequency heat to destroy fat, patients with any type of metal in their bodies are not candidates for Vanquish.
CoolSculpting vs. Laser Lipo- CoolSculpting is a completely non-invasive permanent treatment that targets unwanted fat. Many patients that have researched liposuction typically elect to have a CoolSculpting treatment because there is no anesthesia and no downtime. Laser Lipo works by introducing energy from a laser that travels through the skin to the fatty tissue. It melts the fat which is then removed through a suction device attached to a surgical tool called a cannula. Because the laser cauterizes the blood vessels as it works, there is less bleeding and bruising than with traditional liposuction. Laser liposuction is minimally invasive so you will need local anesthesia. Remember the term #netflixandchill… well, that’s all you need to be prepared for during your CoolSculpting treatment.
