Exclusive to Honolulu MedSpa, the PRP Facial involves a three-step process.

First, a very small amount of blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets, containing the powerful growth factors, from the red blood cells. Second, a micro-needling device is used to create micro-punctures along the treatment area to better introduce the growth factors and to stimulate new tissue and collagen production. These punctures are similar to ablative laser treatments which are also used to promote new, firm, and healthy skin. Finally, the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is applied to the face to allow the growth factors to penetrate into the skin.

This stimulated growth and improvement can continue up to three months after treatment, while the overall results can last up to two years.*

Though similar to its sister service, the PRP Facelift, the PRP Facial requires no injections and is not used to replenish lost volume. It is designed to treat aging, dull, and lackluster skin and provide an overall improved appearance to the face area.

PRP contains multipotent stem cells that are typically activated during injury to mend and grow new tissue.
